The Chelsea Pensioner
The World's #1 Chelsea Fan Pub
The Chelsea Pensioner Pub, on Fulham Road, in The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, dates back to the mid 19th century and lies on the border with Hammersmith and Fulham. It was originally and until quite recently known as The Black Bull and has had a couple of other identities before becoming "The Chelsea Pensioner" in 2014. We have been running the venue since early in 2015.
Being only 200m from Stamford Bridge, there has always been a strong association with Chelsea Football Club and that has been successfully re-established in recent years. There is no better place to go on a Chelsea home matchday than The Chelsea Pensioner, to get the buzzing pre-match football atmosphere. With our DJ playing all your favourite tunes, from a few hours out, right up to kick-off and then for most weekend games, win, lose or draw, into the evening after the game, it's always a great start and/or finish to your day out at Stamford Bridge.
We are rightly known now as "The World's Number 1 Chelsea Fan Pub". There is a lot more to The Chelsea Pensioner than being just a football pub, though. We may be unashamedly blue, but on the many non-football days we have so much else to offer. We have lots of employers, some very large, nearby as well as lots of residents, neighbours, and friends. We are very much a community pub and put on many events on throughout the year, including music, Karaoke, quizzes, even dating nights, comedy and cabaret. If nothing else, a great place to wind down with a pint or a cocktail after a long day or week in the office.
We have a great happy hour Tue - Friday from 5 till 8 pm and there is always either live sport on the TVs or great background music. We have a pool table in the main bar upstairs; a karaoke room holding up to 40 people with over 80,000 available songs in the basement; and our secret courtyard/garden. We have a great menu with food available all day and into the evening, including award-winning Pieminister pies & patties and brand new jumbo hot dogs.
All the spaces within The Chelsea Pensioner are available for private hire. We have several rental options for our spaces and can cater for groups anywhere from single figures booking a table or booth, all the way up to full venue hire for up to 200 people. We have one of the only Karaoke rooms in West London and some of the best rental rates you'll find, especially considering we are in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. If you have a party or special celebration coming up, why not check out how we might be able to help. We are waiting for your call or email, or you can use the enquiry form a bit further down the page.
Come on in to the web site, have a look around and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate in dropping us a message, or better still, drop by the pub when you can and ask our staff for a look around and ask anything you want to know. We'd love to see you!
Covid 19 Update
The Chelsea pensioner is very pleased to now be open again, though, for the foreseeable future, things will continue to be a little different to what we are all used to.
We have all the latest government guidelines in place and are continually reviewing and changing where necessary or instructed. Capacity is limited to seated customers only. There is no at bar service, so table ordering only. There is plenty of hand sanitizer available from the moment you enter the front door.
We are showing all the usual live sport including all of Chelsea's televised games home & away. We are holding back a number of seats each day for people arriving on the spur of the moment, but if you want to guarantee your place, please use the table booking facility further down the page.
The Karaoke room is now open and able to be booked, using the enquiry widget below, or emailing the pub directly using the email address firstname.lastname@example.org
There are food offers on every day, including any hot-dog & fries for £7 and 'Happy hour' is back 5-8 pm Tue-Thu. We very much look forward to welcoming you all and again, please be patient with us. Everything we are doing is with your safety in mind, as well as our own and that of our staff.
